Harrison Ford Reportedly Suffers Broken Ankle

Last week, Harrison Ford was hospitalized after being crushed by a hydraulic door on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII, and now several news outlets, including The New York Post, are reporting that the 71-year-old actor has indeed broken his ankle. According to at least one insider, he has also sustained pelvis injuries.

Disney initially stated that Ford's injury would not affect filming, but it seems unlikely that the production will run smoothly with a hobbled Han Solo. Stay tuned.

Harrison Ford Injured on 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Set

Don't let anyone tell you that making movies isn't a dangerous business. Variety reports that Harrison Ford — Han Solo himself — sustained an ankle injury while filming Star Wars: Episode VII at Pinewood Studios in England.

The 71-year-old actor was airlifted to a local hospital after the incident, which The Hollywood Reporter sources claim was caused by the hydraulic door of the Millennium Falcon. In a statement, Disney affirmed that shooting will continue as scheduled while Mr. Ford recovers.

New 'Sin City' Trailer Full of Neo-Noir Goodness

If you weren’t feeling old this week, wrap your head around this: Sin City was released nine years ago. Since then, we’ve gotten an entire Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy, three Spider-Man films, four X-Men flicks and nine movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So yeah, comic book movies have come a long way since Robert Rodriguez’s adaptation of the iconic Frank Miller comic book series.

The anticipated Sin City sequel, A Dame to Kill for, hits U.S. theaters August 22, and the new trailer for the hard-boiled anthology film shows that Rodriguez and Miller haven’t lost their mutual lust for guns, girls, explosions and grit. Lots of grit.

The all-star cast includes such returning Sin City stars as Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Powers Boothe, Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson, and brings such luminaries as Eva Green, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Josh Brolin — Thanos himself — into the monochromatic fold.

Why the New 'Star Wars: Battlefront' is Essential

With the exception of the pretty-alright The Force Unleashed, released way back in 2008, we've pretty much gone an entire console generation without a decent Star Wars video game. As someone raised on the Super Star Wars series, Rogue Squadron and the X-Wing PC titles, it's mind-boggling to me that a universe tailor-made for interactive battles — whether they be with lightsabers, blasters or starships — could lay mostly dormant in the video game realm for so long. And with the burgeoning popularity of online console multiplayer gaming, it's equally maddening that the Star Wars: Battlefront series has been stagnant for nearly nine years now. I'm an increasingly casual gamer, and I'm constantly in search of pick-up-and play games that don't require a huge time commitment. As such, I've been craving Star Wars: Battlefront III ever since I got an Xbox 360. Unfortunately, that sequel never saw the light of day.

However, following some LucasArts shakeups and Disney's 2012 acquisition of George Lucas' vast multimedia empire, Electronic Arts is now preparing to unleash an all-new Battlefront on the geeky masses in 2015, and this thing already looks amazing based on the E3 trailer released this week. EA's in-house developer Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (DICE) actually visited the Lucas archives to study film props and models for the game, and even went so far as to visit the films' shooting locations to accurately recreate the frosty landscapes of Hoth and the verdant Forest Moon of Endor for the saga's most memorable battles.
