Coldplay Unveils 'Game of Thrones: The Musical' for Red Nose Day

"You know nothing, Chris Martin."

For the Red Nose Day poverty-fighting charity event, Coldplay unveiled "Game of Thrones: The Musical," a faux documentary chronicling the band's attempt at creating a Broadway musical based on the George R. R. Martin fantasy-turned-HBO phenomenon.

The 12-minute clip is pretty fantastic, and it's refreshing to see so many of the cast members having a blast when the show itself has gotten so dark lately. I know it will never actually happen, but I need to see Emilia Clark perform a full version of "Rastafarian Targaryen" in the very near future.

This Honey Badger Keeps Me Stable

With a hectic schedule and a career that requires me to travel every week, sanity often comes in small doses. Sometimes it’s a conversation with a friend, sometimes it’s an episode of Game of Thrones and sometimes it’s a brief play session of Mass Effect 3. This week, however, solace comes in the form of “The Crazy Nastyass Honey Badger.” Apparently I’m the last person on the internet to learn about this video, but screw you guys, I’ve been busy.

If you haven’t checked out this clip, no description I can provide can do it justice. Watch it below (via czg123 on YouTube).

‘Game of Thrones’ Director Could Helm ‘Thor 2’

Variety reports that Marvel Studios and Disney are eyeing Game of Thrones director Brian Kirk to electrify Thor 2, set for release on July 6, 2013.

Thor pulled in $447 million worldwide under the directorial leadership of Kenneth Branagh, who has said he will not helm the sequel despite being invited back into the director’s chair. Following an appearance in next summer’s Avengers team-up film, Chris Hemsworth will once again play the titular Asgardian thunder god.

Although there are a few other directors’ names being kicked around, I think Kirk would be an ideal choice given his superb work on HBO’s Thrones series, especially considering rumors that the sequel will delve deeper into Norse mythology.

According to Variety, Thor co-writer Don Payne is returning to write the screenplay. For the full story, click here.
