I didn't grow up with the "Speed Racer" cartoon show, so I can't really attest to the quality of its transition to film. Looks trippy as hell, and it actually just gave me a bit of a headache. I can already see the Mountain Dew tie-ins and the toy cars and tracks. I dunno if I'll bother, but here's the latest trailer that just hit the Internet. Enjoy!

Did people really want a Speed Racer movie? The only time I've seen it on TV was at 7am on MTV back in 1994
Aw man WTF? I see what they did there with all the neon... very tokyo. but an all american cast? Come on they were all obviously japanese on the show. And no Dubbing? Its like a jackie chan movie vs a good ol' dubbed Bruce lee flick! No contest. Although there were some redeeming qualities, i see "john goodman" as POP and Racer X lookin badass! i guess its also a good thing they used a real monkey to play chim-chim instead of cgi like ALL OF THE ACTION SCENES. I feel as though i may waste my time on this one... but only for nostalgia's sake. Ill see you there wortman
